Hey!!

This blog is about my HUMAN RIGHTS PROJECT ON POLICE BRUTALITY!!!! It's actually with a twist it's on the lives of those in Great Britain!!!

I got the chance to conduct the interview with Gerald Washington and I enjoyed listing to his story and understanding more about his issue. Overall I would say that it is a great piece.

Final Project

I am so happy to say that my final project has been done since Friday, April 24, 2009! Last time I had a project due for this sports class it was turned in on time but Jen and I was late on our final script and we shot our footage in one day and edited on the day that it was due!!! This time around we found a story that we could work with and got everything done early. I am so happy that that is one thing that is no longer on a burden on my shoulders. Now all I have to think about is these last few blogs, the rest of my assignments for my other classes and GRADUATION! CAN I SAY IT AGAIN GRADUATION!!! IT JUST SOUNDS SO GOOD!! Well this is all that I really had to say!! I will chat with you world in about a WEEK!!

Right On Pace

I am so happy that Jen and I are right on pace with our final project. We shot all of the footage that we needed and today I interviewed Denise Lacey, a personal trainer and nurse! She told me about the importance of fitness, especially with dancing. Getting a interview with her was pretty lucky since she is my boyfriends mother.
The project isn't due until April 27 but it definitely will be done before this Friday. I am so ready to graduate college it's not even funny.
I will say that the greatest thing about being in this sports class would be the fact that I learned more about what goes into a real sports story. It's not just about the game it's the overall package. And I had to learn that timing is EVERYTHING that's exactly why I named this piece... RIGHT ON PACE!!!!

Coming Through The Storm!!!!

Despite the mess that has been going on in my life, I have been working really hard on my final project for this sports class. Jen and I wanted to do a story on the Columbia College Chicago Cheerleaders but when we realized that that story wasn't going to work out, I came up with a couple of other things for us to do.
The church that I attend have youth dancers that dance to stay off the street, I left several messages but I've gotten no response back yet. I even tried to do a story on the high school that I attend, where I ran track and they have an excellent track and field team that goes to state and nationals. I wanted to do a story about their social life because when I ran track it was known stop, it was practice directly after school for three hours, homework and class assignments had to always be done, school attendants was a must, weekend training was a must, summer training was a must, early practice before school was sometimes required; so I wanted to do a story that all athletes can relate to with a twist.
Unfortunately I left the principal a couple of messages, I talked to the main office receptionist and the athletics office and the OK had to come through the principal, just my luck, while waiting for three days, they went on Spring Break Friday!
The good side to all of this would be that we have a story that we have been working on for days and its going really well!!!

Just Great!!

So I'm getting everything together for Jenn's and I final project, I'm so excited about interview these cheerleaders, because when you think of Columbia you think of great screen play writers, performers, creative individuals not CHEERLEADERS!!!!
That's why I am so excited about doing this project, I guess that's why I think nothing in my life can go wrong right now, but it just did!!! About an hour ago I realized that I left my purse at work so I had to drive an hour back to work to go and get it and when I got there the purse wasn't no where to be found. So there goes my driver's license, debit card, capital one card, chase credit card and American express card!!! And oh yeah my cash for parking at school today!!!
But there was always hope because my purse was retrieved and everything was in it! So now I can be excited again about my project!!! So cross your fingers so it can get done!!!

New Project

It's that time again to do another project in this class....and I am so excited! This time around Jen and I are going to do a story on cheerleading at Columbia.  We figure that if we do something on Columbia that will draw more people to Frequency TV.

Especially the incoming freshman who may need some people to hang out with. So getting involved in a Columbia sport will be the ticket.

However I am the reporter this time and I'm super excited but I'm not excited about the fact that I have to shake my shimmy in a skirt to show school pride! But the show must go on!!! Columbia pride baby!!
